Dr. Scheer was born in Wichita, Kansas, where he comes from a long family tradition of practicing dentistry. His great-grandfather, Dr. George W. Scheer, moved to Wichita in 1918 and started a dental practice. That practice was then passed down to his son, Dr. Harold Scheer, who practiced dentistry there until he retired and passed the practice on to his son, Dr. Brick Scheer. Dr. Brick Scheer is Dr. Brandon Scheer’s father and still practices dentistry in Wichita today.
After completing his undergraduate education at Wichita State University, Dr. Brandon Scheer moved to Indiana to study dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry. While there, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, graduated with highest honors, was inducted by vote of faculty into membership of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was recognized with an award for Excellence in Oral Biology. During dental school, he went to Kenya in a cooperative mission with Kenyan dental students at Moi University to provide dental care for the homeless children in the city of Eldoret. The following year, he went to Ecuador with a dental missions group traveling from village to village to provide dental care. Those experiences helped strengthen an already strong spirit of service.
Following dental school, he completed an orthodontic residency program at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Certificate in Orthodontics.
When he isn’t practicing orthodontics, you can usually find him wakeboarding during the summer and snowboarding during the winter. He also enjoys playing classical guitar and reading.
“I love my profession and the change in people’s lives we can effect. You can just see the confidence on their faces; it’s so obvious. That ‘change’ in young people’s lives and spirits is the inspiration for the name ‘Shine Orthodontics.'”
Brandon Scheer, DDS & MSD
I’m a Colorado native and a mom of two boys. I started my first job as a fashion merchandise manager. While working there, I realize that I wanted to go to school for sales and marketing. I attended DeVry University to get my bachelor’s in business with a concentration on sales and marketing. While in school I realized I had interest in Ortho and decided to pursue it, so I attended Pima Medical. Once graduated I was offered a job in an Orthodontic Office, and I’ve been in the Ortho field since 2011. With many years of experience, being able to see the smile on patients faces once they are done with their treatment is the best result!
Being a mother of two boys keeps me occupied when I’m not at work. When I do get some free time, I enjoy going out eating and traveling. I love experiencing new things in life and I’ve traveled to many different places in the world. I hope that one day my boys can be able to experience other parts of the world and learn different cultures.
Now that I have joined Shine Orthodontics, I’m excited to grow as a practice and create new bonds with our patients.
Born and raised in Colorado, I have been given the privilege to experience countless outdoor activities with different jobs. With distinct roles ranging from security guard to gym supervisor, as well as certified dog trainer, I am eager to learn. I place a lot of value in the extensive service animal training with my German Shepherd, and I also care for my labradoodle puppy. My dogs are the center of my world. When not studying or working, I like to venture into the mountains to appreciate nature, which includes four-wheeling with my Jeep that I built up from stock. I am currently working toward obtaining a dental hygiene degree, and having the honor to be a part of the Shine Orthodontics team has granted me more insight into the world of dentistry. I look forward to being a part of your journey toward your perfect smile.
